The Backchannel
Private production partnership.
A private working relationship for getting unresolved thinking out of your head and into decisions, language, positioning, and finished work you can use.
The problem
The thinking is there. Getting it into a form that works outside your head is the hard part.
Most experts and executives have more valuable thinking than they ever publish, present, document, or put to use. Not because the ideas are weak. Because turning that thinking into usable work takes time, judgment, and outside pressure most people never have steady access to.
The Backchannel creates a space for that kind of work to happen on an ongoing basis. The goal is straightforward: less of your best thinking stays stuck, and more of it becomes language, decisions, frameworks, documents, and finished work you can use.
The work
Common things that come up in The Backchannel.
Frameworks and intellectual property.
When expertise lives in your head with no clear way to explain, teach, or reuse it, we give it shape. Naming a methodology, building a framework, writing documentation that lets the thinking travel without you.
High-stakes writing and communication.
Pitches, proposals, investor updates, decks, essays, positioning documents, sales pages. Work where the language matters and the stakes of getting it wrong are real. We work in the material together until it says what you actually mean.
Developing and pressure-testing ideas.
When something is half-formed and you need to know if it holds up, we work through it directly. I push where the logic is weak and help you find the version that is defensible before it costs you to be wrong.
Business model, pricing, and offer design.
How you package and price your work, what you offer and to whom, and how clients engage with you. Whether building something new or rethinking something existing, this requires real engagement with your specific situation.
Positioning and market perception.
How you are understood relative to alternatives, what makes your approach different, and how to say it in a way that holds up when tested. Includes positioning language, talking points, and how you show up in conversations that matter.
Decisions and strategic direction.
When you are stuck on a decision, going in circles, or unsure what to focus on, we work through it directly. What needs to happen now, what can wait, what the right order of operations is, and what you should stop doing altogether.
Investor, board, and fundraising preparation.
The narrative, the likely objections, and the gaps in how an opportunity is being presented. Pressure-testing the story from the perspective of a skeptical outside reader before the conversation that matters.
Public thinking and visible authority.
Turning recurring ideas, private observations, and hard-won judgment into essays, articles, posts, talks, or other public work that makes your authority visible without flattening the thinking.
The point is not to stay in a narrow lane. You bring the thing that is active: a draft, a decision, a positioning question, a framework, an offer, a pitch, or an idea that needs pressure before it becomes public. I meet you in the material and help move it forward.
The Private Channel
A working channel for thinking in progress.
The private channel is where most of the ongoing work happens. A rough idea before it disappears. A decision you keep circling. A draft that needs a direct read. A pricing question you have been sitting on. A piece of writing that is close but not landing. You send it when it matters, and I engage with it directly.
It also handles more serious back-and-forth work. If you are developing an argument, refining a position, or working through a decision that has real consequences, the channel is the right place to do that incrementally. You do not need to wait for a session to get a substantive response.
The channel is deliberate, not on-call. It is not for emergencies, urgent client situations, or anything that requires an immediate response. The expectation on both sides is thoughtful engagement, not fast turnaround at all hours.
Live sessions
For fast-moving work that needs live attention.
Sessions are 90 minutes over video and recorded in full. You receive the transcript afterward to use however you want: raw material for writing, a decision record, or reference documentation. The standing time is agreed at the start of the engagement and adjusted directly when needed.
Some sessions produce a finished product. Some produce a decision. Some produce structure. Some produce better questions and a clearer path for the next round of work.
The value is not just the call. It is a live read from someone who has followed the private channel and understands the full context of what you are working on. I can ask the question that is actually blocking the work, name what is not ready yet, and help you find the next usable version.
When the work calls for building something together, a framework, a narrative arc, a pitch structure, a pricing model, we use the session to make real progress in the room.
Working rhythm
Three levels of engagement.
Every tier includes the private channel. You can start with async support, add a weekly session, or move into a more intensive rhythm when the work calls for it. As your needs change, switching between levels is simple.
Async
$200/week
Ongoing access to the private channel. You send questions, drafts, decisions, and work in progress. I respond with direct input. No sessions included, but you can upgrade to Standard or Intensive for a period of time upon request, or buy one-to-one consulting hours at a discount.
Standard
$350/week
One 90-minute session per week, plus full access to the private channel. The session is used for whatever is most pressing that week. Most clients at this tier stay here long term.
Intensive
$650/week
Full access to the private channel, plus two 90-minute sessions per week. More live engagement, same depth. Built for compressed phases when the work needs more live attention and fewer pauses.
Who this is for:
You have ideas worth publishing, presenting, or turning into something useful, but they keep staying in notes, calls, drafts, and unfinished documents.
You are building something significant and need someone close enough to the work to understand the context, challenge the thinking, and help move it forward.
You are making decisions about positioning, pricing, offers, fundraising, or strategic direction, and thinking it through alone has become slow or circular.
Your public presence, client-facing language, or internal documentation makes you look less substantial than you actually are.
This is not a fit if...
You want work produced with minimal input from you. The Backchannel is collaborative by design.
You want to copy what competitors are doing rather than develop your own point of view.
You are looking for coaching, accountability, or emotional support rather than a working production relationship.
You need urgent turnaround, emergency support, or someone on call at all hours.
How to begin
I work with a small number of clients and choose carefully.
Before committing, I need to understand what you are working on, whether the fit is real, and whether I can do useful work for you over time.
Send a note.
Tell me what you are working on, what you are hoping to get out of this kind of partnership, and which tier you are considering. If it looks promising, I will follow up with the one question that matters most: what would make the first month worth it?
We have a 20 to 30 minute call.
Not a sales call. I am trying to understand your work, assess whether the fit is real, and figure out whether I can be genuinely useful to you. The call ends with a clear yes or no.
We start immediately if it is a fit.
If it is a yes, you receive a payment link for your chosen tier by email. Once that is handled, we open the private channel, choose any standing session time if your tier includes one, and start with whatever needs attention first.
Capacity is limited.
Tell me what you are working on.
Send a direct note with your situation, what you are trying to accomplish, and which tier you are considering. If it looks like a fit, I will follow up within 48 hours.
