How to Prepare For a Ghostwriting Interview
These sessions are designed to be simple and productive. You don’t need to bring slides, documents, or outlines, just the experience and expertise that are unique to you.
1. Check Your Dashboard
Before our call, visit your Client Dashboard to:
- Review the content ideas we already have in the hopper
- See what’s next in the queue
- Refresh your memory on questions I’ve already drafted
You can usually find the link by searching your email for Lexicontent Client Dashboard. If it doesn’t come up, just send a quick note to me (joseph@lexicontent.com) and I’ll resend it.
2. Think About Your Perspectives
You don’t need to do heavy prep, but it helps to be mindful of:
- Which ideas excite you most
- Any strong opinions, stories, or experiences you want to capture
- Questions you’ve been asked recently by clients, peers, or your team
3. Expect a Guided Process
I’ll come prepared with fresh topics and tailored Q&A. During the call:
- You’ll pick one idea at a time
- I’ll ask targeted questions to draw out your insights
- Your job is simply to share your informed take—I handle the rest
4. The Mindset That Works Best
- Be present: no multitasking, just focus on the conversation
- Be candid: your real voice and perspective are what make the content resonate
- Be brief or deep: short takes and long stories can all be shaped into strong content
